Taylor Home
This home is one of many that follow a design people keep coming back to because it just works. The homeowner loved it so much that when it came time to build his retirement home, he wanted to take it to the next level.
One of the standout features is the way the indoors and outdoors blend seamlessly. A massive 16-foot pocketing sliding glass door disappears into the wall, opening the living space completely. In the dining area, additional sliding glass doors—measuring nine, nine, and twelve feet—do the same, creating an almost uninterrupted connection to the landscape. The result? A breathtaking experience where nature becomes part of everyday living.
The owner, having lived in a similar home before, knew exactly what worked—and what could be improved. One of his biggest frustrations in past designs was the basement columns cutting into the space. This time, we rethought the structural approach to eliminate them entirely. The outcome is an open, unobstructed 750-square-foot living area with soaring 10-foot ceilings—perfect for hosting family without feeling closed in.
Though large in scale, this home was designed with purpose. The owner wanted plenty of space for children and grandchildren to visit, but also the ability to retreat into his own private areas when needed. By refining an already successful design, we created a home that feels expansive yet personal—built for the way he truly lives.
